Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd
Imagination Aroused is a cultural action to embrace and support the West Baltimore Community in its engagement with Baltimore City Department of Transportation Reconnecting Community Grant towards a vision and new story for Baltimore Highway To Nowhere. The cultural engagement is rooted in a historical thinking of a place (West Baltimore) that provided great meaning, cultural practices, and a sense of belonging to many African Amercians in the city of Baltimore. Pennsylvania Avenue served as one example allowing West Baltimoreans to live and experience a cultural life.
Imagination Aroused will serve as an engagement that will allow West Baltimore and Artscape goers to participate in interactive Learning Exchanges, story circles, engage in creating oral history stories for the Harlem Theatre and experience interactive art, story-circles, and historical funk and jazz music on the HIghway To Nowhere and the Harlem Theatre.
