Artscape – America’s largest free arts festival – returns May 24-25, 2025.

We extend a warm invitation to artists and festival-goers alike to fully embrace Artscape – an entirely accessible, 100% FREE, world-class arts festival situated right here in the heart of Baltimore City.
Gamescape applications are open! As part of Artscape, Gamescape celebrates the local game creator community, featuring games by indie developers and students, along with game-themed art and music.
We are seeking game-inspired artwork and music, including vocal performances and chiptunes.
We want to showcase a variety of games—tabletop, alt.ctrl, electronic, and more! Whether you’re a student or a seasoned indie developer, we want to feature your game and connect you with the local community.
BOPA invites artists, authors and artist collectives who create books, prints, multiples and other editions to participate in the Literary Arts and Artist Prints fair within the 40th annual Artscape. Applicants will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell their works. The Lits & Prints Fair will be held outdoors this year.
BOPA is hosting Model Calls to connect local Models with our 2024 Project Artscape Designers. Models may register for and attend all Model as there will be different Designers at each one.
Designers will reach out to selected Models individually when the Model Calls conclude. Please note: BOPA is not hiring any models and the relationships created among Models and Designers are governed by the separate agreements made between those parties.

Artscape is seeking food vendors to create a rich Baltimore food experience for festival goers. Out-of-staters please note: we have a commitment to local food with at least 95% of food vendors accepted hailing from the state of Maryland.

* Grilling Vendors using charcoal/gas grills and/or deep fryers: $2000 per 10’x10′ space; $4000 per 10’x20′ space.
* Cooking Vendors preparing food on-site with griddles or re-heating: $1500 per 10’x10′ space.
* Non-Cooking Vendors offering pre-made items such as sandwiches and salads: $1200 per 10’x10′ space.
* Packaged/Novelty Food Vendors offering cookies, nuts, desserts, etc.: $800 per 10’x10’ space

B24 is Artscape’s new signature in-door exhibition featuring the work of the best artists based in Baltimore City and the surrounding region. B23 featured the work of 25 Baltimore-based and regional artists. B23 was juried by Rhea Combs of Black Artist Research Space (BARS), Liz Faust, Independent Curator, and Tod Roulette of Roulette Fine Art (New York).
B24 will be juried by Sheena M. Morrison (Independent Curator), Carol Rhodes Dyson (Howard University), and Kilolo Luckett (ALMA | LEWIS).
Artists can be at any stage of their career post-university and can work in any discipline of art including painting, drawing, video, film, glass, textile, photography, light, sound, sculpture, and performance. Artists will be able to submit 5-7 works for consideration.
The exhibition will be open to the public during Artscape.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts seeks Baltimore city agencies, non-profit organizations, arts organizations to participate in Artscape, where Baltimore comes together. Artscape’s draws 350,000 attendees over its three days. BOPA’s festivals are a fun, turnkey opportunity to reach thousands of people in an immersive environment.

The Artist Market at Artscape is a juried show. A panel of professional artists will score each applicant’s submitted photographs and description of materials/technique. This is a blind process. The panel of jurors changes each year, and scores are final.
This year one area of the market will be designated as The Emerging Artist Market. This additional market space is dedicated to local emerging Baltimore City based artists ONLY who are first time festival participants. This program provides a tent and space in the Artists’ Market at no charge. A limited number of artists will be selected for this competitive program. Artists denote on their application if they qualify.
The Artist Market highlights artists who create and execute original, professional quality work. In order to be considered for an Artist Market space, all work displayed must be produced by the exhibiting artist or collaboration, and must be consistent with the images submitted. Artists may only exhibit art in the category in which they were accepted into the Artist Market.
Performing Artist DJs and Bands are invited to apply to perform on local stages throughout the festival. All music genres welcome.
Call to Artists for exhibition of temporary sculptures
The Baltimore Festival of The Arts (BFAI) seeks to commission temporary sculptures for Artscape festival, August 2-4, 2024. Artscape aims to create a walkable creative corridor adorned with diverse, installation-based artwork along N. Charles Street and Mt Royal Ave corridor. Projects should actively engage the audience and provide a unique and memorable experience for festivalgoers. Works should be visually compelling through design, color, and scale, and be interactive wherever possible. Projects are commissioned based on the quality of design, durability, cost, safety, and factoring in heavy use by large crowds attending Artscape. These projects are temporary in nature and BOPA/BFAI will not underwrite repairs, restoration, etc. after their use at Artscape.
Kidscape is returning for Artscape 2024! This year’s themes include: Refresh, Personify, Bright, Uplift, and Grace. Kidscape will take place outdoors at Gordon Plaza, located at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Mt. Royal Avenue, on the campus of University of Baltimore and across from The Lyric.
BOPA welcomes applications from individual artists and non-profit organizations to curate table-side programming for Kidscape targeted for children ages 5-12.
Teenscape is returning for Artscape 2024! This year’s vision and themes include: Refresh, Personify, Bright, Uplift, and Grace. Kidscape is offering an inaugural program called Youth Artist Market, which is a space for youth in grades 8-12 (ages 14-18) with a creative entrepreneurial spirit to operate their table-side business at the Kidscape section of Artscape. This is a FREE opportunity, and youth entrepreneurs can retain all income as a vendor.
BOPA welcomes applications from youth vendors ages 14-18 (grades 8-12), but this application must include contact information for a parent/guardian.
Artscape is excited to showcase emerging and professional apparel designers by providing a runway experience to showcase their designs. The goal of this experience is to elevate the Baltimore fashion community by offering an opportunity to reach a broader audience.
Artscape is now accepting applications for pop-up performances. These performances will take place throughout the festival’s footprint and could be stationary or roaming.
Artists will perform unique, original, professional quality work that seeks to captivate and engage audiences. This includes anything from live painting, to dance troupes, to stilt walkers to any other captivating content! To be considered for a performance slot, all work MUST be produced by the exhibiting artist or collaboration and MUST be consistent with the images/description submitted.
BOPA is seeking a qualified production company to operate festival stage, sound, lighting and video elements.

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA), producer of Artscape, is inviting proposals from qualified security agencies to be part of our upcoming festival event, August 2 – 4, 2024. Agencies licensed, bonded, insured in the State of Maryland are eligible to apply. Agencies must provide work and fee schedules for daytime and overnight, armed and unarmed security staff. Agencies are tasked with maintaining public safety, securing festival assets. All guards must be in strong physical condition, age 18+ with no criminal record.
BOPA is seeking a qualified Talent Buyer to help secure music performing artists.
Buyer’s primary responsibilities entail, but are not limited to: Main stage music performance – artist talent booking, fee negotiation, backline coordination & procurement, sound, lighting, video production advance coordination, artist travel coordination for Artscape festival.
