NERVE CENTER is an immersive multi sensorial art installation that serves as a tangible portal for TLaloC’s ongoing “Elgreen Project” -Ficciones Series- architectural landscapes. The exhibition space, invites the audience to a liminal dark space full of unidentifiable strange glowing elements; engulfed in a peculiar sweet scent that aims to transport the viewer to another time and place.

The Mobtown Ballroom, Baltimore’s premiere host for social dancing and various shenanigans, hosts The Baltimore Square Dance on Friday night; two performances of Mobtown Rising, a Burlesque & Drag Show on Saturday night; and the legendary jazz band from New Orleans, Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns, perform live Sunday night!

During the day, the pop-up will be open for food, beverages, and free arts activities for the whole family.

Blue Light Junction, La Loupe Design and Dear Globe invite you to The Junction Outpost: a coffee/refreshment bar, gallery and retail space. The Junction Outpost will offer workshops, a photobooth, as well as a community engaged collective dyeing & quilting lab.

Currency Studio presents an exhibition curated by Michael Haskins. 0520 CARGO displays visual artworks that invite each participating artist to share the personal soundtrack that sets the tone for their creative self. Artworks will be accompanied by a collection of vinyl records selected by each exhibiting artist. Featured artists: Adewali Alli, BlissArmyKnife, Erica Lee Page, Gaia, Kid Balloon, Malcolm Majer, Maurice Scarlett, and Noah Emanuel.

BMORE QUEERSCAPE AT ARTSCAPE

QUEER-SCAPE at Artscape: Bigger, Longer, Queer-er, Stronger! Founded in May, 2023 by Darius K. McKeiver (Stealya-Manz Blue), Ryan Michael Haase and Amanda J. Rife, Baltimore Queer-Scape is a multidisciplinary, annual, arts festival held in Baltimore City every June in commemoration of LGBTQIA+ Pride month. Bmore Queer-Scape pop-ups like this one at Artscape provide queer and trans+ Baltimore artists with the opportunity to sell their artwork, craft, and artisan-made pieces and include drag, dance and burlesque performances.

SATURDAY

11AM – 5PM Queer-Makers Market (QMM) is an arts fair featuring 20+ majority queer and trans+ visual and performing artist, created for everybody and every body. The Queer Makers Market is a safe space for queer, trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, gender-nonconforming, and intersex folks to share their crafts and build community. Mingle with makers and shakers. Family-friendly activities will include face painting, a drag queen story hour, and karaoke.

8 PM — 9:30 PM: StillPointe Theatre present: Get Bent! A gender-bent cabaret

1 PM — 2:30 PM: The Library is Open: Drag storytelling will be 45 minutes and designed for children ages 3-8. A drag artist will read 2-4 children’s books, and lead children in craft activities such as making crowns and/or face painting. Through a fun and fabulous literary experience, The Library is Open celebrates learning and play, encouraging kids to celebrate gender diversity and all kinds of difference, while building confidence in expressing themselves.

This year, Artscape introduces its new signature indoor exhibition, B23, showcasing the incredible work of 25 talented artists hailing from Baltimore City and the surrounding region. The B23 Exhibition features a diverse range of mediums, including painting, textiles, mixed media, photography, film, video, and animation. These artists, the best of 2023, represent various stages of their careers post-university, reflecting the rich and dynamic artistic landscape of the area.

Ukrainian-American artist Maya Hayuk and her mural team are reimagining a massive, fluorescent, abstract mural that was originally produced during the innovative Station North-based 2012 Open Walls Mural Festival, curated by world-renowned street artist, Gaia.

1919 N. Charles Street – Mural Project Former Gas Station 

Portals & Passageway

This immersive piece takes viewers on a journey from reality into the collective consciousness, asking viewers to be here in this place, but reimagined. From the expansive skyscape painted on the once-forgotten gas station canopy to the maze-like stairways leading off the page, onlookers are invited to take a collective breath and land in this new space.

Baltimore’s Charm

“Baltimore’s Charm” is a public art project that will repurpose electrical boxes to beautify the city of Baltimore. Five electrical boxes located along the Charles Street corridor have been selected to be vinyl-wrapped in unique designs that will enhance the environment and deter typical applications of graffiti and advertisements.

Black Burner Project 

Description: Erin started the documentation of people of color who attend Burning Man through photography and personal interviews in 2018. Since then, she has become a voice for awareness, education, support, & inclusion for those both in and outside of the Burning Man community. A prominent advocate for increasing Diversity and Inclusion at Burning Man. Her encouraging words, de-mystifying explanations, and beautiful photography inspires BIPOC to consider going to Burning Man and helps others embrace & understand the idea of a Black Burner’s experience. BBP reminds the Burner community that representation is an essential element of “radical inclusion”
